FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New cloud-based software capabilities connect in-situ soil health measurements from the Subterra Green with data visualization, analysis and export options for farmers and agronomists.

Akron, Ohio, October 6, 2026

Today, S4 Mobile Laboratories is announcing our expanded Subterra offerings combining the Subterra Green hardware with Subterra Insight cloud-based software to help farmers, agronomists and agricultural professionals store, visualize, analyze and export data to work with their agronomic operations.

S4 Mobile Laboratories also announced that users can now export Subterra Insight data in a format compatible with FieldAlytics, a widely used agronomy software platform for viewing, analyzing and storing farm and agronomic information. The new capability enables users to incorporate Subterra soil data into their agronomic workflows alongside other farm data.

“The Subterra Green provides the hardware to collect detailed, in-situ soil measurements directly in the field. Subterra Insight is the software piece of the puzzle which gives users software tools to turn your soil health measurements with the Subterra into information that can help you make agronomic decisions,” said Russell Pier, Technical Sales Manager, S4 Mobile Laboratories. “Adding FieldAlytics-compatible export is an exciting expansion of the Subterra platform because it gives users greater flexibility to use Subterra data in the agronomy systems they already rely on.”

In-Situ Soil Intelligence

S4 Mobile Laboratories develops and supplies the Subterra Green platform as a technology product for agricultural professionals. The company is not a traditional soil-sampling or laboratory-service provider. The Subterra Green uses soil spectroscopy to measure what is in the soil in real time, in situ, with high precision. The system does not require conventional soil coring, sample handling or off-site laboratory analysis.

The Subterra Green is designed to efficiently collect extensive, high-resolution soil data across large areas in a single pass. It measures soil conditions at depths of up to 90 centimeters, providing a more complete picture of soil health variability in your fields. To accommodate different field sizes and operating needs, The Subterra Green is available in two configurations: the Model-P for single-operator use and the Model-U, a UTV-mounted system designed for scalable measurement across larger acreages.

The Subterra Green measures a growing range of soil properties and analytes, including soil organic carbon, phosphorus, potassium, cation exchange capacity, salinity and bulk density. S4 Mobile Laboratories is working with the Ohio Soybean Council to advance its spectroscopy and detection capabilities, the platform is expected to expand the range of nutrients and soil characteristics it can measure, providing users with an increasingly complete view of soil conditions.

From Soil Data to Action

Subterra Insight is the cloud-based software platform designed to organize, visualize, compare and apply the data collected by the Subterra Green. Users can access and work with their soil information in a practical digital environment, including 3D visualizations that help reveal soil conditions and variability across a field and throughout the soil profile.

The new FieldAlytics compatible export capability extends the value of Subterra Insight by enabling users to move detailed, in-situ soil measurements into their broader farm-data environment. This allows Subterra Green data to be reviewed alongside other field records, agronomic information and operational planning tools.

The result is a more connected workflow, from real-time soil measurement in the field to cloud-based visualization, analysis and decision-making. This can support more targeted nutrient management, soil-health planning, input allocation and resource conservation.
